On behalf of SHAPE Colorado, I am would like to welcome you to the 2019 Annual Convention. This is the 88th time we have come together to share ideas. Here, we can thrive in our profession by learning new ways to benefit our kids, our profession, and our state. We offer quality sessions, workshops, and demonstrations to enrich how you teach Health and Physical Education in Colorado.

The SHAPE Colorado Board has worked extensively to assure your convention experience is a success. Board members will be here as attendees, facilitators and presenters. Graduating Mind-Body Fit Students
Participants will see first-hand the powerful effects of the Move Through Yoga program for all students - those in Adapted and Mainstream PE. Session participants will gain greater insight into how they can lengthen and strengthen student muscles, while also providing life skills (mindfulness and coping strategies to handle stress).

Program evaluation is a critical component of quality physical education programming. The P.E. for All Colorado Coalition has developed a P.E. policy model describing the essential components of quality physical education. This session will provide attendees with specific evidence-based methods for physical education program evaluation.

This session will discuss health related data showing a rise in cancers, diabetes, and other health issues among young adults. The session will outline important lifestyle related health issues afflicting today's young adults and address ways physical education could help our current students avoid those same health issues.

Creating Mastery Motivational Climates from Sport to School
The session will discuss the different types of motivational climates, benefits of mastery motivational climates, as well as provide tools and ways to promote and maintain mastery motivational climates. Parallels will be drawn between the sport and education environment and the impact of coaches and teachers in their respective domains.

How to set up your daily routine so it includes literacy upon arriving to class, technology, instant activity, GLOs/objectives/lesson focus, purposeful skill development and application, check for understanding, self-assessment as well as collecting data, and closure.
